- 1 Chronicles 13 6:64 - And the children of Israel gave to the Levites these cities with their suburbs.
ויתנו בני־ישׂראל ללוים את־הערים ואת־מגרשׁיהם בֵּן son Afflicted, age, (Ahoh-.. יִשְׂרָאֵל Israel נָתַן Add, apply, appoint, as.. [8799] לֵוִיִּי Leviite עִיר a city/excitement, ang... Ai (from margin), city,.. מִגְרָשׁ Cast out, suburb - 2 Chronicles 14 14:7 - Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered .
ויאמר ליהודה נבנה את־הערים האלה ונסב חומה ומגדלים דלתים ובריחים עודנו הארץ לפנינו כי דרשׁנו את־יהוה אלהינו דרשׁנו וינח לנו מסביב ויבנו ויצליחו - Joshua 6 17:12 - Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities ; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
