- Joshua 6 22:28 - Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made , not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices ; but it is a witness between us and you.
ונאמר והיה כי־יאמרו אלינו ואל־דרתינו מחר ואמרנו ראו את־תבנית מזבח יהוה אשׁר־עשׂו אבותינו לא לעולה ולא לזבח כי־עד הוא בינינו וביניכם - Deuteronomy 5 5:5 - saying ,
אנכי עמד בינ־יהוה וביניכם בעת ההוא להגיד לכם את־דבר יהוה כי יראתם מפני האשׁ ולא־עליתם בהר לאמר - Ezekiel 26 20:20 - And hallow my sabbaths ; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.
