- Proverbs 20 23:14 - Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
אתה בשׁבט תכנו ונפשׁו משׁאול תציל נָכָה Beat, cast forth, clap,.. [8686] שֵׁבֶט × correction, dart, rod.. נָצַל × at all, defend, deliv.. [8686] נֶפֶשׁ Any, appetite, beast, b.. שְׁאוֹל Grave, hell, pit - Micah 33 5:1 - Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops : he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
עתה תתגדדי בת־גדוד מצור שׂם עלינו בשׁבט יכו על־הלחי את שׁפט ישׂראל - Psalms 19 2:9 - Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron ; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
