- Esther 17 2:5 - Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite ;
אישׁ יהודי היה בשׁושׁן הבירה ושׁמו מרדכי בן יאיר בנ־שׁמעי בנ־קישׁ אישׁ ימיני - Esther 17 9:12 - And the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman ; what have they done in the rest of the king's provinces ? now what is thy petition ? and it shall be granted thee: or what is thy request further ? and it shall be done .
ויאמר המלך לאסתר המלכה בשׁושׁן הבירה הרגו היהודים ואבד חמשׁ מאות אישׁ ואת עשׂרת בני־המן בשׁאר מדינות המלך מה עשׂו ומה־שׁאלתך וינתן לך ומה־בקשׁתך עוד ותעשׂ - Esther 17 1:5 - And when these days were expired , the king made a feast unto all the people that were present in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven days, in the court of the garden of the king's palace ;
ובמלואת הימים האלה עשׂה המלך לכל־העם הנמצאים בשׁושׁן הבירה למגדול ועד־קטן משׁתה שׁבעת ימים בחצר גנת ביתן המלך - Nehemiah 16 2:8 - And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into . And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.
ואגרת אל־אסף שׁמר הפרדס אשׁר למלך אשׁר יתנ־לי עצים לקרות את־שׁערי הבירה אשׁר־לבית ולחומת העיר ולבית אשׁר־אבוא אליו ויתנ־לי המלך כיד־אלהי הטובה עלי - Esther 17 9:6 - And in Shushan the palace the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred men.
