- 1 Samuel 9 25:16 - They were a wall unto us both by night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.
חומה היו עלינו גמ־לילה גמ־יומם כל־ימי היותנו עמם רעים הצאן חוֹמָה Wall, walled לַיִל (mid-)night (season) יוֹמָם Daily, (by, in the) day.. יוֹם day/time/year Age, always, chronica.. רָעָה × break, companion, kee.. [8802] צֹאן (small) cattle, flock, .. - Exodus 2 3:1 - Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law , the priest of Midian : and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
ומשׁה היה רעה את־צאן יתרו חתנו כהן מדין וינהג את־הצאן אחר המדבר ויבא אל־הר האלהים חרבה - Jeremiah 24 49:20 - Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom ; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman : Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out : surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
לכן שׁמעו עצת־יהוה אשׁר יעץ אל־אדום ומחשׁבותיו אשׁר חשׁב אל־ישׁבי תימן אמ־לא יסחבום צעירי הצאן אמ־לא ישׁים עליהם נוהם - 2 Samuel 10 24:17 - And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said , Lo, I have sinned , and I have done wickedly : but these sheep, what have they done ? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house.
ויאמר דוד אל־יהוה בראתו את־המלאך המכה בעם ויאמר הנה אנכי חטאתי ואנכי העויתי ואלה הצאן מה עשׂו תהי נא ידך בי ובבית אבי - Nehemiah 16 3:32 - And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants .
