- Genesis 1 28:12 - And he dreamed , and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven : and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
ויחלם והנה סלם מצב ארצה וראשׁו מגיע השׁמימה והנה מלאכי אלהים עלים וירדים בו - Joshua 6 8:20 - And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw , and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to flee this way or that way : and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers .
ויפנו אנשׁי העי אחריהם ויראו והנה עלה עשׁן העיר השׁמימה ולא־היה בהם ידים לנוס הנה והנה והעם הנס המדבר נהפך אל־הרודף - Deuteronomy 5 30:12 - It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say , Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
לא בשׁמים הוא לאמר מי יעלה־לנו השׁמימה ויקחה לנו וישׁמענו אתה ונעשׂנה - Deuteronomy 5 4:19 - And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
ופנ־תשׂא עיניך השׁמימה וראית את־השׁמשׁ ואת־הירח ואת־הכוכבים כל צבא השׁמים ונדחת והשׁתחוית להם ועבדתם אשׁר חלק יהוה אלהיך אתם לכל העמים תחת כל־השׁמים - Judges 7 20:40 - But when the flame began to arise up out of the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the flame of the city ascended up to heaven.
והמשׂאת החלה לעלות מנ־העיר עמוד עשׁן ויפן בנימן אחריו והנה עלה כליל־העיר השׁמימה
