- Esther 17 9:19 - Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.
על־כן היהודים הפרוזים הישׁבים בערי הפרזות עשׂים את יום ארבעה עשׂר לחדשׁ אדר שׂמחה ומשׁתה ויום טוב ומשׁלוח מנות אישׁ לרעהו - Esther 17 2:11 - And Mordecai walked every day before the court of the women's house, to know how Esther did, and what should become of her.
ובכל־יום ויום מרדכי מתהלך לפני חצר בית־הנשׁים לדעת את־שׁלום אסתר ומה־יעשׂה בה - Isaiah 23 58:5 - Is it such a fast that I have chosen ? a day for a man to afflict his soul ? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD ?
הכזה יהיה צום אבחרהו יום ענות אדם נפשׁו הלכף כאגמן ראשׁו ושׂק ואפר יציע הלזה תקרא־צום ויום רצון ליהוה - Esther 17 3:4 - Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand : for he had told them that he was a Jew.
ויהי באמרם אליו יום ויום ולא שׁמע אליהם ויגידו להמן לראות היעמדו דברי מרדכי כי־הגיד להם אשׁר־הוא יהודי - Isaiah 23 61:2 - To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God ; to comfort all that mourn ;
