- 1 Samuel 9 18:3 - Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.
ויכרת יהונתן ודוד ברית באהבתו אתו כנפשׁו - 1 Chronicles 13 27:32 - Also Jonathan David's uncle was a counsellor , a wise man, and a scribe : and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king's sons :
ויהונתן דוד־דויד יועץ אישׁ־מבין וסופר הוא ויחיאל בנ־חכמוני עמ־בני המלך - 2 Samuel 10 9:1 - And David said , Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?
ויאמר דוד הכי ישׁ־עוד אשׁר נותר לבית שׁאול ואעשׂה עמו חסד בעבור יהונתן - 2 Samuel 10 9:7 - And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father ; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
