- Jeremiah 24 41:9 - Now the pit wherein Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of the men, whom he had slain because of Gedaliah, was it which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel : and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with them that were slain.
והבור אשׁר השׁליך שׁם ישׁמעאל את כל־פגרי האנשׁים אשׁר הכה ביד־גדליהו הוא אשׁר עשׂה המלך אסא מפני בעשׁא מלכ־ישׂראל אתו מלא ישׁמעאל בנ־נתניהו חללים - 2 Chronicles 14 23:1 - And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.
ובשׁנה השׁבעית התחזק יהוידע ויקח את־שׂרי המאות לעזריהו בנ־ירחם ולישׁמעאל בנ־יהוחנן ולעזריהו בנ־עובד ואת־מעשׂיהו בנ־עדיהו ואת־אלישׁפט בנ־זכרי עמו בברית - Jeremiah 24 40:14 - And said unto him, Dost thou certainly know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites hath sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay thee? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam believed them not.
ויאמרו אליו הידע תדע כי בעליס מלך בני־עמון שׁלח את־ישׁמעאל בנ־נתניה להכתך נפשׁ ולא־האמין להם גדליהו בנ־אחיקם - Jeremiah 24 41:8 - But ten men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, Slay us not: for we have treasures in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So he forbare , and slew them not among their brethren.
ועשׂרה אנשׁים נמצאו־בם ויאמרו אל־ישׁמעאל אל־תמתנו כי־ישׁ־לנו מטמנים בשׂדה חטים ושׂערים ושׁמן ודבשׁ ויחדל ולא המיתם בתוך אחיהם - Genesis 1 25:12 - Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham :
