- Genesis 1 46:3 - And he said , I am God, the God of thy father : fear not to go down into Egypt ; for I will there make of thee a great nation :
ויאמר אנכי האל אלהי אביך אל־תירא מרדה מצרימה כי־לגוי גדול אשׂימך שׁם - Genesis 1 46:6 - And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
ויקחו את־מקניהם ואת־רכושׁם אשׁר רכשׁו בארץ כנען ויבאו מצרימה יעקב וכל־זרעו אתו - Deuteronomy 5 26:5 - And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous :
וענית ואמרת לפני יהוה אלהיך ארמי אבד אבי וירד מצרימה ויגר שׁם במתי מעט ויהי־שׁם לגוי גדול עצום ורב - Exodus 2 13:17 - And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go , that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near ; for God said , Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt :
ויהי בשׁלח פרעה את־העם ולא־נחם אלהים דרך ארץ פלשׁתים כי קרוב הוא כי אמר אלהים פנ־ינחם העם בראתם מלחמה ושׁבו מצרימה - Numbers 4 14:4 - And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
