- 1 Samuel 9 28:11 - Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said , Bring me up Samuel.
ותאמר האשׁה את־מי אעלה־לך ויאמר את־שׁמואל העלי־לי - 1 Samuel 9 16:10 - Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.
ויעבר ישׁי שׁבעת בניו לפני שׁמואל ויאמר שׁמואל אל־ישׁי לא־בחר יהוה באלה - 1 Samuel 9 1:20 - Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived , that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.

ויקח שׁמואל את־קרן השׁמן וימשׁח אתו בקרב אחיו ותצלח רוח־יהוה אל־דוד מהיום ההוא ומעלה ויקם שׁמואל וילך הרמתה - 1 Samuel 9 7:3 - And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying , If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
ויאמר שׁמואל אל־כל־בית ישׂראל לאמר אמ־בכל־לבבכם אתם שׁבים אל־יהוה הסירו את־אלהי הנכר מתוככם והעשׁתרות והכינו לבבכם אל־יהוה ועבדהו לבדו ויצל אתכם מיד פלשׁתים
