- Genesis 1 23:19 - And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre : the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan.
ואחרי־כן קבר אברהם את־שׂרה אשׁתו אל־מערת שׂדה המכפלה על־פני ממרא הוא חברון בארץ כנען - 1 Chronicles 13 15:9 - Of the sons of Hebron ; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore :
לבני חברון אליאל השׂר ואחיו שׁמונים בֵּן son Afflicted, age, (Ahoh-.. חֶבְרוֹן Hebron אֱלִיאֵל Eliel שַׂר Captain (that had rule).. אָח Another, brother(-ly); .. שְׁמֹנִים Eighty(-ieth), fourscore - 2 Samuel 10 3:19 - And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin : and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.
וידבר גמ־אבנר באזני בנימין וילך גמ־אבנר לדבר באזני דוד בחברון את כל־אשׁר־טוב בעיני ישׂראל ובעיני כל־בית בנימן - Joshua 6 20:7 - And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.
