- 2 Kings 12 1:17 - So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken . And Jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah ; because he had no son.
וימת כדבר יהוה אשׁר־דבר אליהו וימלך יהורם תחתיו בשׁנת שׁתים ליהורם בנ־יהושׁפט מלך יהודה כי לא־היה לו בן - 2 Kings 12 9:14 - So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram.
ויתקשׁר יהוא בנ־יהושׁפט בנ־נמשׁי אל־יורם ויורם היה שׁמר ברמת גלעד הוא וכל־ישׂראל מפני חזאל מלכ־ארם - 2 Kings 12 8:16 - And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign .

So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.
