- Esther 17 1:8 - And the drinking was according to the law ; none did compel : for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure.
והשׁתיה כדת אין אנס כי־כן יסד המלך על כל־רב ביתו לעשׂות כרצון אישׁ־ואישׁ - Jeremiah 24 50:24 - I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken , O Babylon, and thou wast not aware : thou art found , and also caught , because thou hast striven against the LORD.
יקשׁתי לך וגמ־נלכדת בבל ואת לא ידעת נמצאת וגמ־נתפשׂת כי ביהוה התגרית - Daniel 27 6:12 - Then they came near , and spake before the king concerning the king's decree ; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions ? The king answered and said , The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
באדין קריבו ואמרין קדמ־מלכא על־אסר מלכא הלא אסר רשׁמת די כל־אנשׁ די־יבעה מנ־כל־אלה ואנשׁ עד־יומין תלתין להן מנך מלכא יתרמא לגוב אריותא ענה מלכא ואמר יציבא מלתא כדת־מדי ופרס די־לא תעדא - Job 18 18:10 - The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.
