- Jeremiah 24 2:11 - Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods ? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit .
ההימיר גוי אלהים והמה לא אלהים ועמי המיר כבודו בלוא יועיל - Jeremiah 24 38:12 - And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.
ויאמר עבד־מלך הכושׁי אל־ירמיהו שׂים נא בלואי הסחבות והמלחים תחת אצלות ידיך מתחת לחבלים ויעשׂ ירמיהו כן - Isaiah 23 55:2 - Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread ? and your labour for that which satisfieth not ? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
למה תשׁקלו־כסף בלוא־לחם ויגיעכם בלוא לשׂבעה שׁמעו שׁמוע אלי ואכלו־טוב ותתענג בדשׁן נפשׁכם - Ecclesiastes 21 10:11 - Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment ; and a babbler is no better.
