- Esther 17 4:3 - And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came , there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing ; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
ובכל־מדינה ומדינה מקום אשׁר דבר־המלך ודתו מגיע אבל גדול ליהודים וצום ובכי ומספד שׂק ואפר יצע לרבים - Zechariah 38 8:19 - Thus saith the LORD of hosts ; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts ; therefore love the truth and peace.
