- Esther 17 4:3 - And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came , there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing ; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
ובכל־מדינה ומדינה מקום אשׁר דבר־המלך ודתו מגיע אבל גדול ליהודים וצום ובכי ומספד שׂק ואפר יצע לרבים - Esther 17 2:8 - So it came to pass, when the king's commandment and his decree was heard , and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the king's house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.
ויהי בהשׁמע דבר־המלך ודתו ובהקבץ נערות רבות אל־שׁושׁן הבירה אל־יד הגי ותלקח אסתר אל־בית המלך אל־יד הגי שׁמר הנשׁים - Esther 17 9:1 - Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution , in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them,
ובשׁנים עשׂר חדשׁ הוא־חדשׁ אדר בשׁלושׁה עשׂר יום בו אשׁר הגיע דבר־המלך ודתו להעשׂות ביום אשׁר שׂברו איבי היהודים לשׁלוט בהם ונהפוך הוא אשׁר ישׁלטו היהודים המה בשׂנאיהם - Ezra 15 10:1 - Now when Ezra had prayed , and when he had confessed , weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children : for the people wept very sore.
וכהתפלל עזרא וכהתודתו בכה ומתנפל לפני בית האלהים נקבצו אליו מישׂראל קהל רב־מאד אנשׁים ונשׁים וילדים כי־בכו העם הרבה־בכה - Esther 17 8:17 - And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came , the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews ; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.
ובכל־מדינה ומדינה ובכל־עיר ועיר מקום אשׁר דבר־המלך ודתו מגיע שׂמחה ושׂשׂון ליהודים משׁתה ויום טוב ורבים מעמי הארץ מתיהדים כי־נפל פחד־היהודים עליהם
