- 1 Samuel 9 5:11 - So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said , Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people : for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city ; the hand of God was very heavy there.
וישׁלחו ויאספו את־כל־סרני פלשׁתים ויאמרו שׁלחו את־ארון אלהי ישׂראל וישׁב למקמו ולא־ימית אתי ואת־עמי כי־היתה מהומת־מות בכל־העיר כבדה מאד יד האלהים שׁם - Jeremiah 24 25:38 - He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion : for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor , and because of his fierce anger.
