- Jeremiah 24 7:21 - Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel ; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישׂראל עלותיכם ספו על־זבחיכם ואכלו בשׂר - Genesis 1 35:7 - And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel : because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
ויבן שׁם מזבח ויקרא למקום אל בית־אל כי שׁם נגלו אליו האלהים בברחו מפני אחיו - Leviticus 3 2:9 - And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar : it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
והרים הכהן מנ־המנחה את־אזכרתה והקטיר המזבחה אשׁה ריח ניחח ליהוה - 2 Kings 12 11:18 - And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down ; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly , and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. ויבאו כל־עם הארץ בית־הבעל ויתצהו את־מזבחתו ואת־צלמיו שׁברו היטב ואת מתן כהן הבעל הרגו לפני המזבחות וישׂם הכהן פקדות על־בית יהוה - 1 Kings 11 1:19 - And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host : but Solomon thy servant hath he not called .
