- Genesis 1 17:20 - And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee : Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful , and will multiply him exceedingly ; twelve princes shall he beget , and I will make him a great nation.
ולישׁמעאל שׁמעתיך הנה ברכתי אתו והפריתי אתו והרביתי אתו במאד מאד שׁנימ־עשׂר נשׂיאם יוליד ונתתיו לגוי גדול - Ecclesiastes 21 6:3 - If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial ; I say , that an untimely birth is better than he.
