- Exodus 2 3:6 - Moreover he said , I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face ; for he was afraid to look upon God.
ויאמר אנכי אלהי אביך אלהי אברהם אלהי יצחק ואלהי יעקב ויסתר משׁה פניו כי ירא מהביט אל־האלהים - Jeremiah 24 36:26 - But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet : but the LORD hid them.
ויצוה המלך את־ירחמאל בנ־המלך ואת־שׂריהו בנ־עזריאל ואת־שׁלמיהו בנ־עבדאל לקחת את־ברוך הספר ואת ירמיהו הנביא ויסתרם יהוה - Job 18 34:29 - When he giveth quietness , who then can make trouble ? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only :
והוא ישׁקט ומי ירשׁע ויסתר פנים ומי ישׁורנו ועל־גוי ועל־אדם יחד - Micah 33 3:4 - Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.
אז יזעקו אל־יהוה ולא יענה אותם ויסתר פניו מהם בעת ההיא כאשׁר הרעו מעלליהם - 2 Kings 12 11:2 - But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain ; and they hid him, even him and his nurse , in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain .
