- Isaiah 23 7:24 - With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
בחצים ובקשׁת יבוא שׁמה כי־שׁמיר ושׁית תהיה כל־הארץ חֵץ Archer, arrow, dart, s.. קֶשֶׁת × arch(-er), arrow, bo.. בּוֹא Abide, apply, attain, ×.. [8799] אֶרֶץ earth × common, country, eart.. שָׁמִיר Adamant (stone), brier,.. שַׁיִת Thorns - Isaiah 23 5:6 - And I will lay it waste : it shall not be pruned , nor digged ; but there shall come up briers and thorns : I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
ואשׁיתהו בתה לא יזמר ולא יעדר ועלה שׁמיר ושׁית ועל העבים אצוה מהמטיר עליו מטר - Isaiah 23 7:25 - And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns : but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
וכל ההרים אשׁר במעדר יעדרון לא־תבוא שׁמה יראת שׁמיר ושׁית והיה למשׁלח שׁור ולמרמס שׂה - Job 18 22:24 - Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
ושׁית־על־עפר בצר ובצור נחלים אופיר - Isaiah 23 9:18 - For wickedness burneth as the fire : it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.
