- 2 Chronicles 14 6:5 - Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel :
מנ־היום אשׁר הוצאתי את־עמי מארץ מצרים לא־בחרתי בעיר מכל שׁבטי ישׂראל לבנות בית להיות שׁמי שׁם ולא־בחרתי באישׁ להיות נגיד על־עמי ישׂראל - 1 Samuel 9 16:9 - Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by . And he said , Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
ויעבר ישׁי שׁמה ויאמר גמ־בזה לא־בחר יהוה - 1 Kings 11 8:16 - Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
מנ־היום אשׁר הוצאתי את־עמי את־ישׂראל ממצרים לא־בחרתי בעיר מכל שׁבטי ישׂראל לבנות בית להיות שׁמי שׁם ואבחר בדוד להיות על־עמי ישׂראל - 1 Samuel 9 16:10 - Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.
ויעבר ישׁי שׁבעת בניו לפני שׁמואל ויאמר שׁמואל אל־ישׁי לא־בחר יהוה באלה - 1 Samuel 9 16:8 - Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said , Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
