- Psalms 19 37:14 - The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
חרב פתחו רשׁעים ודרכו קשׁתם להפיל עני ואביון לטבוח ישׁרי־דרך - Jeremiah 24 51:40 - I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter , like rams with he goats.

ואני ככבשׂ אלוף יובל לטבוח ולא־ידעתי כי־עלי חשׁבו מחשׁבות נשׁחיתה עץ בלחמו ונכרתנו מארץ חיים ושׁמו לא־יזכר עוד - Jeremiah 24 25:34 - Howl , ye shepherds , and cry ; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock : for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished ; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
