- Genesis 1 32:31 - And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.
ויזרח־לו השׁמשׁ כאשׁר עבר את־פנואל והוא צלע על־ירכו עָבַר Alienate, alter, × at a.. [8804] פְּנוּאֵל Peniel, Penuel שֶׁמֶשׁ East side(-ward), sun .. זָרַח Arise, rise (up), as so.. [8799] צָלַע Halt [8802] יָרֵךְ × body, loins, shaft, s.. - Judges 7 8:9 - And he spake also unto the men of Penuel, saying , When I come again in peace, I will break down this tower.
ויאמר גמ־לאנשׁי פנואל לאמר בשׁובי בשׁלום אתץ את־המגדל הזה - Judges 7 8:8 - And he went up thence to Penuel, and spake unto them likewise : and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered him.
ויעל משׁם פנואל וידבר אליהם כזאת ויענו אותו אנשׁי פנואל כאשׁר ענו אנשׁי סכות - Judges 7 8:17 - And he beat down the tower of Penuel, and slew the men of the city.
ואת־מגדל פנואל נתץ ויהרג את־אנשׁי העיר - 1 Chronicles 13 4:4 - And Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, the father of Bethlehem.
