- Ezra 15 7:12 - Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.
ארתחשׁסתא מלך מלכיא לעזרא כהנא ספר דתא די־אלה שׁמיא גמיר וכענת אַרְתַּחְשַׁשְׁתָּא Artaxerxes מֶלֶךְ King, royal מֶלֶךְ King, royal עֶזְרָא Ezra כָּהֵן Priest סָפֵר Scribe דָּת Decree, law אֱלָהּ God, god שָׁמַיִן Heaven גְּמַר Perfect [8752] כְּעֶנֶת At such a time - Job 18 30:27 - My bowels boiled , and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.
מעי רתחו ולא־דמו קדמני ימי־עני מֵעֶה Belly, bowels, × heart,.. רָתַח Boil [8795] דָּמַם Cease, be cut down (off.. [8804] יוֹם day/time/year Age, always, chronica.. עֳנִי Afflicted(-ion), trouble קָדַם Come (go, (flee)) befor.. [8765] - Ezra 15 8:1 - These are now the chief of their fathers, and this is the genealogy of them that went up with me from Babylon, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.
ואלה ראשׁי אבתיהם והתיחשׂם העלים עמי במלכות ארתחשׁסתא המלך מבבל - Ezra 15 4:8 - Rehum the chancellor and Shimshai the scribe wrote a letter against Jerusalem to Artaxerxes the king in this sort :
רחום בעל־טעם ושׁמשׁי ספרא כתבו אגרה חדה על־ירושׁלם לארתחשׁשׂתא מלכא כנמא - Ezra 15 4:7 - And in the days of Artaxerxes wrote Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabeel, and the rest of their companions, unto Artaxerxes king of Persia ; and the writing of the letter was written in the Syrian tongue, and interpreted in the Syrian tongue.
