- 2 Samuel 10 10:6 - And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Bethrehob, and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ishtob twelve thousand men.
ויראו בני עמון כי נבאשׁו בדוד וישׁלחו בני־עמון וישׂכרו את־ארם בית־רחוב ואת־ארם צובא עשׂרים אלף רגלי ואת־מלך מעכה אלף אישׁ ואישׁ טוב שׁנימ־עשׂר אלף אישׁ - 2 Kings 12 13:17 - And he said , Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said , Shoot . And he shot . And he said , The arrow of the LORD'S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria : for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
ויאמר פתח החלון קדמה ויפתח ויאמר אלישׁע ירה ויור ויאמר חצ־תשׁועה ליהוה וחץ תשׁועה בארם והכית את־ארם באפק עד־כלה - 1 Kings 11 20:26 - And it came to pass at the return of the year, that Benhadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.
ויהי לתשׁובת השׁנה ויפקד בנ־הדד את־ארם ויעל אפקה למלחמה עמ־ישׂראל - 2 Chronicles 14 18:10 - And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said , Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed .
ויעשׂ לו צדקיהו בנ־כנענה קרני ברזל ויאמר כה־אמר יהוה באלה תנגח את־ארם עד־כלותם - 2 Kings 12 13:19 - And the man of God was wroth with him, and said , Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times ; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice .
