- Numbers 4 1:49 - Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel :
אך את־מטה לוי לא תפקד ואת־ראשׁם לא תשׂא בתוך בני ישׂראל - Numbers 4 17:10 - And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels ; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.
ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה השׁב את־מטה אהרן לפני העדות למשׁמרת לאות לבני־מרי ותכל תלונתם מעלי ולא ימתו - Exodus 2 7:10 - And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded : and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
ויבא משׁה ואהרן אל־פרעה ויעשׂו כן כאשׁר צוה יהוה וישׁלך אהרן את־מטהו לפני פרעה ולפני עבדיו ויהי לתנין - Exodus 2 4:20 - And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt : and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
ויקח משׁה את־אשׁתו ואת־בניו וירכבם על־החמר וישׁב ארצה מצרים ויקח משׁה את־מטה האלהים בידו - Numbers 4 3:6 - Bring the tribe of Levi near , and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
