- Psalms 19 107:34 - A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
ארץ פרי למלחה מרעת ישׁבי בה פְּרִי Bough, (first-)fruit(-f.. אֶרֶץ earth × common, country, eart.. מְלֵחָה Barren land(-ness), sal.. רַע Adversity, affliction, .. יָשַׁב "to dwell/sit" (make to) abide(-ing), .. [8802] - Jeremiah 24 12:4 - How long shall the land mourn , and the herbs of every field wither , for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed , and the birds ; because they said , He shall not see our last end.
עד־מתי תאבל הארץ ועשׂב כל־השׂדה ייבשׁ מרעת ישׁבי־בה ספתה בהמות ועוף כי אמרו לא יראה את־אחריתנו - Jeremiah 24 23:14 - I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing : they commit adultery , and walk in lies : they strengthen also the hands of evildoers , that none doth return from his wickedness : they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
ובנבאי ירושׁלם ראיתי שׁערורה נאוף והלך בשׁקר וחזקו ידי מרעים לבלתי־שׁבו אישׁ מרעתו היו־לי כלם כסדם וישׁביה כעמרה - Jonah 32 4:6 - And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd.
