- 1 Samuel 9 4:17 - And the messenger answered and said , Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead , and the ark of God is taken .
ויען המבשׂר ויאמר נס ישׂראל לפני פלשׁתים וגם מגפה גדולה היתה בעם וגמ־שׁני בניך מתו חפני ופינחס וארון האלהים נלקחה - Ezekiel 26 33:6 - But if the watchman see the sword come , and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned ; if the sword come , and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity ; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
והצפה כי־יראה את־החרב באה ולא־תקע בשׁופר והעם לא־נזהר ותבוא חרב ותקח מהם נפשׁ הוא בעונו נלקח ודמו מיד־הצפה אדרשׁ - 1 Samuel 9 4:22 - And she said , The glory is departed from Israel : for the ark of God is taken .
ותאמר גלה כבוד מישׂראל כי נלקח ארון האלהים - 1 Samuel 9 4:11 - And the ark of God was taken ; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain .
