- Ezra 15 6:1 - Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
באדין דריושׁ מלכא שׂם טעם ובקרו בבית ספריא די גנזיא מהחתין תמה בבבל - Esther 17 8:10 - And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus ' name, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries :
ויכתב בשׁם המלך אחשׁורשׁ ויחתם בטבעת המלך וישׁלח ספרים ביד הרצים בסוסים רכבי הרכשׁ האחשׁתרנים בני הרמכים - Esther 17 3:12 - Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language ; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written , and sealed with the king's ring.
ויקראו ספרי המלך בחדשׁ הראשׁון בשׁלושׁה עשׂר יום בו ויכתב ככל־אשׁר־צוה המן אל אחשׁדרפני־המלך ואל־הפחות אשׁר על־מדינה ומדינה ואל־שׂרי עם ועם מדינה ומדינה ככתבה ועם ועם כלשׁונו בשׁם המלך אחשׁורשׁ נכתב ונחתם בטבעת המלך - Ecclesiastes 21 12:12 - And further, by these, my son, be admonished : of making many books there is no end ; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
ויתר מהמה בני הזהר עשׂות ספרים הרבה אין קץ ולהג הרבה יגעת בשׂר - Esther 17 8:5 - And said , If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's provinces :
ותאמר אמ־על־המלך טוב ואמ־מצאתי חן לפניו וכשׁר הדבר לפני המלך וטובה אני בעיניו יכתב להשׁיב את־הספרים מחשׁבת המן בנ־המדתא האגגי אשׁר כתב לאבד את־היהודים אשׁר בכל־מדינות המלך
