- Deuteronomy 5 21:15 - If a man have two wives, one beloved , and another hated , and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated ; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated :
כי־תהיין לאישׁ שׁתי נשׁים האחת אהובה והאחת שׂנואה וילדו־לו בנים האהובה והשׂנואה והיה הבן הבכור לשׂניאה - Deuteronomy 5 21:16 - Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated , which is indeed the firstborn :
והיה ביום הנחילו את־בניו את אשׁר־יהיה לו לא יוכל לבכר את־בנ־האהובה על־פני בנ־השׂנואה הבכר - Genesis 1 29:31 - And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated , he opened her womb : but Rachel was barren.
