- Jonah 32 4:2 - And he prayed unto the LORD, and said , I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country ? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish : for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
ויתפלל אל־יהוה ויאמר אנה יהוה הלוא־זה דברי עד־היותי על־אדמתי על־כן קדמתי לברח תרשׁישׁה כי ידעתי כי אתה אל־חנון ורחום ארך אפים ורב־חסד ונחם על־הרעה - 1 Chronicles 13 19:2 - And David said , I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.
ויאמר דויד אעשׂה־חסד עמ־חנון בנ־נחשׁ כי־עשׂה אביו עמי חסד וישׁלח דויד מלאכים לנחמו על־אביו ויבאו עבדי דויד אל־ארץ בני־עמון אל־חנון לנחמו - 2 Samuel 10 10:3 - And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out , and to overthrow it?
ויאמרו שׂרי בני־עמון אל־חנון אדניהם המכבד דוד את־אביך בעיניך כי־שׁלח לך מנחמים הלוא בעבור חקור את־העיר ולרגלה ולהפכה שׁלח דוד את־עבדיו אליך - Nehemiah 16 9:31 - Nevertheless for thy great mercies ' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
וברחמיך הרבים לא־עשׂיתם כלה ולא עזבתם כי אל־חנון ורחום אתה
