- Jeremiah 24 12:4 - How long shall the land mourn , and the herbs of every field wither , for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed , and the birds ; because they said , He shall not see our last end.
עד־מתי תאבל הארץ ועשׂב כל־השׂדה ייבשׁ מרעת ישׁבי־בה ספתה בהמות ועוף כי אמרו לא יראה את־אחריתנו - Job 18 8:12 - Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down , it withereth before any other herb.
עדנו באבו לא יקטף ולפני כל־חציר ייבשׁ אֵב Greenness, fruit קָטַף Crop off, cut down (up).. [8735] יָבֵשׁ Be ashamed, clean, be c.. [8799] פָּנִים presence Accept, (a-, be-)fore(.. חָצִיר Grass, hay, herb, leek - 1 Kings 11 17:7 - And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up , because there had been no rain in the land.
ויהי מקץ ימים וייבשׁ הנחל כי לא־היה גשׁם בארץ - Jonah 32 4:7 - But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered .
