- Esther 17 8:5 - And said , If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's provinces :
ותאמר אמ־על־המלך טוב ואמ־מצאתי חן לפניו וכשׁר הדבר לפני המלך וטובה אני בעיניו יכתב להשׁיב את־הספרים מחשׁבת המן בנ־המדתא האגגי אשׁר כתב לאבד את־היהודים אשׁר בכל־מדינות המלך - Esther 17 9:25 - But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.
ובבאה לפני המלך אמר עמ־הספר ישׁוב מחשׁבתו הרעה אשׁר־חשׁב על־היהודים על־ראשׁו ותלו אתו ואת־בניו על־העץ - Esther 17 10:3 - For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
כי מרדכי היהודי משׁנה למלך אחשׁורושׁ וגדול ליהודים ורצוי לרב אחיו דרשׁ טוב לעמו ודבר שׁלום לכל־זרעו - Jeremiah 24 36:14 - Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying , Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come . So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.
וישׁלחו כל־השׂרים אל־ברוך את־יהודי בנ־נתניהו בנ־שׁלמיהו בנ־כושׁי לאמר המגלה אשׁר קראת בה באזני העם קחנה בידך ולך ויקח ברוך בנ־נריהו את־המגלה בידו ויבא אליהם - Nehemiah 16 1:2 - That Hanani, one of my brethren, came , he and certain men of Judah ; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
ויבא חנני אחד מאחי הוא ואנשׁים מיהודה ואשׁאלם על־היהודים הפליטה אשׁר־נשׁארו מנ־השׁבי ועל־ירושׁלם
