- Numbers 4 32:8 - Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadeshbarnea to see the land.
כה עשׂו אבתיכם בשׁלחי אתם מקדשׁ ברנע לראות את־הארץ - Zechariah 38 1:6 - But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers ? and they returned and said , Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
אך דברי וחקי אשׁר צויתי את־עבדי הנביאים הלוא השׂיגו אבתיכם וישׁובו ויאמרו כאשׁר זמם יהוה צבאות לעשׂות לנו כדרכינו וכמעללינו כן עשׂה אתנו - Genesis 1 48:21 - And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die : but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.
ויאמר ישׂראל אל־יוסף הנה אנכי מת והיה אלהים עמכם והשׁיב אתכם אל־ארץ אבתיכם - Judges 7 2:1 - And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said , I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers ; and I said , I will never break my covenant with you.
ויעל מלאכ־יהוה מנ־הגלגל אל־הבכים ויאמר אעלה אתכם ממצרים ואביא אתכם אל־הארץ אשׁר נשׁבעתי לאבתיכם ואמר לא־אפר בריתי אתכם לעולם - Zechariah 38 1:4 - Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried , saying , Thus saith the LORD of hosts ; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings : but they did not hear , nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD.
