- Joshua 6 8:29 - And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until eventide : and as soon as the sun was down , Joshua commanded that they should take his carcase down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise thereon a great heap of stones, that remaineth unto this day.
ואת־מלך העי תלה על־העץ עד־עת הערב וכבוא השׁמשׁ צוה יהושׁע וירידו את־נבלתו מנ־העץ וישׁליכו אותה אל־פתח שׁער העיר ויקימו עליו גל־אבנים גדול עד היום הזה - 1 Kings 11 13:30 - And he laid his carcase in his own grave ; and they mourned over him, saying, Alas, my brother !
וינח את־נבלתו בקברו ויספדו עליו הוי אחי יָנַח Bestow, cast down, lay .. לכן כה־אמר יהוה על־יהויקים מלך יהודה לא־יהיה־לו יושׁב על־כסא דוד ונבלתו תהיה משׁלכת לחרב ביום ולקרח בלילה - 1 Kings 11 13:24 - And when he was gone , a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcase was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcase.
וילך וימצאהו אריה בדרך וימיתהו ותהי נבלתו משׁלכת בדרך והחמור עמד אצלה והאריה עמד אצל הנבלה - Jeremiah 24 26:23 - And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the king ; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
