- Judges 7 6:36 - And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said ,
ויאמר גדעון אל־האלהים אמ־ישׁך מושׁיע בידי את־ישׂראל כאשׁר דברת - Judges 7 6:29 - And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing ? And when they enquired and asked , they said , Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing.
ויאמרו אישׁ אל־רעהו מי עשׂה הדבר הזה וידרשׁו ויבקשׁו ויאמרו גדעון בנ־יואשׁ עשׂה הדבר הזה - 2 Chronicles 14 34:7 - And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder , and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.
וינתץ את־המזבחות ואת־האשׁרים והפסלים כתת להדק וכל־החמנים גדע בכל־ארץ ישׂראל וישׁב לירושׁלם - Deuteronomy 5 7:5 - But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.
כי־אמ־כה תעשׂו להם מזבחתיהם תתצו ומצבתם תשׁברו ואשׁירהם תגדעון ופסיליהם תשׂרפון באשׁ - Judges 7 6:13 - And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying , Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt ? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
ויאמר אליו גדעון בי אדני וישׁ יהוה עמנו ולמה מצאתנו כל־זאת ואיה כל־נפלאתיו אשׁר ספרו־לנו אבותינו לאמר הלא ממצרים העלנו יהוה ועתה נטשׁנו יהוה ויתננו בכפ־מדין
