- 2 Kings 12 7:4 - If we say , We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come , and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians : if they save us alive , we shall live ; and if they kill us, we shall but die .
אמ־אמרנו נבוא העיר והרעב בעיר ומתנו שׁם ואמ־ישׁבנו פה ומתנו ועתה לכו ונפלה אל־מחנה ארם אמ־יחינו נחיה ואמ־ימיתנו ומתנו - 1 Kings 11 17:12 - And she said , As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse : and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die .
