- 2 Samuel 10 13:3 - But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother : and Jonadab was a very subtil man.
ולאמנון רע ושׁמו יונדב בנ־שׁמעה אחי דוד ויונדב אישׁ חכם מאד - 2 Samuel 10 13:32 - And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother, answered and said , Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the king's sons ; for Amnon only is dead : for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.
ויען יונדב בנ־שׁמעה אחי־דוד ויאמר אל־יאמר אדני את כל־הנערים בני־המלך המיתו כי־אמנון לבדו מת כי־על־פי אבשׁלום היתה שׂומה מיום ענתו את תמר אחתו - Jeremiah 24 35:19 - Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel ; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.
לכן כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישׂראל לא־יכרת אישׁ ליונדב בנ־רכב עמד לפני כל־הימים - Jeremiah 24 35:6 - But they said , We will drink no wine : for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying , Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever :
ויאמרו לא נשׁתה־יין כי יונדב בנ־רכב אבינו צוה עלינו לאמר לא תשׁתו־יין אתם ובניכם עד־עולם - 2 Samuel 10 13:35 - And Jonadab said unto the king, Behold, the king's sons come : as thy servant said, so it is.
ויאמר יונדב אל־המלך הנה בני־המלך באו כדבר עבדך כן היה
