- 2 Samuel 10 23:10 - He arose , and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary , and his hand clave unto the sword : and the LORD wrought a great victory that day ; and the people returned after him only to spoil .
הוא קם ויך בפלשׁתים עד כי־יגעה ידו ותדבק ידו אל־החרב ויעשׂ יהוה תשׁועה גדולה ביום ההוא והעם ישׁבו אחריו אכ־לפשׁט - 2 Samuel 10 18:8 - For the battle was there scattered over the face of all the country : and the wood devoured more people that day than the sword devoured .
ותהי־שׁם המלחמה נפצית על־פני כל־הארץ וירב היער לאכל בעם מאשׁר אכלה החרב ביום ההוא - Ezekiel 26 33:6 - But if the watchman see the sword come , and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned ; if the sword come , and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity ; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
והצפה כי־יראה את־החרב באה ולא־תקע בשׁופר והעם לא־נזהר ותבוא חרב ותקח מהם נפשׁ הוא בעונו נלקח ודמו מיד־הצפה אדרשׁ - Jeremiah 24 21:7 - And afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies , and into the hand of those that seek their life : and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword ; he shall not spare them, neither have pity , nor have mercy .
ואחרי־כן נאמ־יהוה אתן את־צדקיהו מלכ־יהודה ואת־עבדיו ואת־העם ואת־הנשׁארים בעיר הזאת מנ־הדבר מנ־החרב ומנ־הרעב ביד נבוכדראצר מלכ־בבל וביד איביהם וביד מבקשׁי נפשׁם והכם לפי־חרב לא־יחוס עליהם ולא יחמל ולא ירחם - Jeremiah 24 15:3 - And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD : the sword to slay , and the dogs to tear , and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy .
ופקדתי עליהם ארבע משׁפחות נאמ־יהוה את־החרב להרג ואת־הכלבים לסחב ואת־עוף השׁמים ואת־בהמת הארץ לאכל ולהשׁחית
